How to Draw a Dugong
Draw a dugong in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long body.
Step 1: Long body
Start at the thin right end. Draw along the back, round the droopy nose and tummy. Stop below the start.
Tip Leave the thin end open: the tail goes there.
Step 2: Snout disc
Start on the forehead. Draw a big curve round the snout and stop in the dip under it.
Step 3: Big friendly eye
Above the snout, draw a big round eye with a black dot and a white shine.
Step 4: Happy smile
Start in the dip under the snout. Draw a little smile back into the cheek. Stop below the eye.
Step 5: Bristle dots
On the front of the snout, draw 3 little dots in a curved row. Keep them off the lines.
Step 6: Paddle flipper
Start on the tummy just behind the smile. Draw a paddle flipper pointing back, and stop on the tummy.
Step 7: Whale tail
At the thin end, draw a whale tail with 2 round flukes, from the top line to the bottom line.
Step 8: Sea floor
Under the dugong, draw a long bumpy sea floor. Start near the left edge and stop near the right.
Step 9: Sea grass
On the sea floor, draw 3 pointy blades of grass. Start and stop each one on the floor.
Step 10: Sandy snout and floor
Colour the snout disc and the sea floor sandy.
Step 11: Stone grey dugong
Colour the body, flipper and tail stone grey, around the sandy snout. Leave the eye white.
Step 12: Blue sea, green grass
Colour the sea blue up to the top of the paper, around the dugong and grass. Colour the grass green.
