How to Draw a Duck with Ducklings
Draw a duck with ducklings in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: mum's head.
Step 1: Mum's head
On the left of your paper, a little above the middle, draw a big egg for the mother duck's head.
Tip Leave room on the right for her body and 3 ducklings.
Step 2: Flat bill
From the head's left side, draw a flat bill out to a round tip and back. Add a smile line.
Tip Keep the bill flat and wide, like a spoon.
Step 3: Big eye
Above the bill, draw 1 big round eye. Colour a big black dot inside, leaving a white shine.
Step 4: Mum's body
Under the head, draw a round chest, a fat tummy and a back that sweeps up to a pointy tail.
Tip Her body is like a fat boat, much longer than her head.
Step 5: Tucked wing
On the side of her body, draw a leaf wing with 2 soft feather bumps pointing to the back.
Step 6: Three little heads
Behind the mother duck, draw 3 small egg heads in a row, all the same size.
Tip Keep them level with her wing and leave a gap between them.
Step 7: Bills and eyes
Give each duckling a tiny flat bill on the left of its head and a black dot eye.
Step 8: Little bodies
Under each little head, draw a small round body with a tiny tail tipping up at the back.
Step 9: Wavy water
From the left edge, draw a wavy line across all 4 ducks to the right edge, low on their bodies.
Tip Rub out the body lines below the wavy line. That part is under water.
Step 10: Ripples
Draw 3 short curved lines on the water for ripples.
Step 11: Wing and cheek
Go over your lines. Leave the mother duck white. Colour her wing sand and give her a pink cheek.
Step 12: Yellow ducklings
Colour the 3 ducklings yellow. Colour all 4 bills orange.
Step 13: Blue water
Colour the water blue around the ducks, all the way to the edges of the page.
