How to Draw a Duck Swimming
Draw a duck swimming in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big egg head.
Step 1: Big egg head
Near the top of your paper, draw a big egg, a little wider at the bottom.
Step 2: Short wide bill
Start low on the face. Draw a rainbow, a wide U back to the start, and a smile line across.
Tip Keep it short and wide, like a spoon, not a pointed beak.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Above the bill, draw 2 big egg eyes with a gap between. Colour big black dots, leaving white shines.
Step 4: Three hairs
Start on top of the head. Draw 3 short hairs sticking up, ending in the air.
Step 5: Fat body
Start on the left cheek. Draw a big fat egg down and round, back up to the right cheek.
Step 6: Tucked wings
Start under each cheek. Draw a fat leaf down the side, curving in to a point, back to the start.
Tip The wings hug the body, not out like arms.
Step 7: Perky tail
Start low on the right of the body. Draw a little pointy tail up and out, back to the body.
Step 8: Wavy water
From the left edge, low on the tummy, draw a wavy line across to the right edge.
Tip Rub out the body lines below the wavy line. That part is under water.
Step 9: Ripples
On each side of the duck, draw 2 short curved lines on the water for ripples.
Step 10: Sandy wings, pink cheeks
Leave the head, body and eyes white. Colour the 2 wings sand and 2 pink cheeks beside the bill.
Step 11: Orange bill, blue water
Colour the bill orange, then colour the water blue around the duck, to the edges.
