How to Draw a Dragon Egg
Draw a dragon egg in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the egg.
Step 1: The egg
Start near the top of your paper. Draw a big egg, fatter at the bottom, back to the start.
Step 2: Scales on top
Start on the left edge near the top. Draw 3 big U bumps across to the right. Add 4 below.
Tip Tuck each row under the one above, like fish scales.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Below the scales draw 2 big round eyes, a finger apart. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Start under the left eye. Draw a U smile, stopping under the right. Add a fang and 2 cheeks.
Step 5: Scales underneath
Under the smile, start on the left edge. Draw 5 big hill bumps across to the right edge.
Step 6: A crack
Start on the right edge, above the eye. Draw a zigzag crack into the egg like a lightning bolt.
Tip Keep it away from the eye. Something is about to hatch!
Step 7: A shine
On the upper left, below the scales, draw a small bean shape along the edge.
Tip Leave it white when you colour. It makes the egg look shiny.
Step 8: Twig nest
Start left of the egg. Draw a bowl across and back under. Add 3 twigs, 2 sticks and the ground.
Step 9: Green scales, pink cheeks
Colour the scaly top and the bottom scales green, and the cheeks pink.
Step 10: Teal egg, brown nest
Colour the egg teal around the scales and cheeks, and the nest brown. Leave the eyes, fang and shine white.
Tip Go over your lines and your dragon egg is done!
