How to Draw a Doorknob

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a doorknob in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the knob.

Print

  1. Step 1: The knob

In the middle draw a big round circle, as big as your fist, for the knob.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

On the knob draw 2 big egg eyes side by side. Colour a big black dot in each.

  3. Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye, and a small oval cheek beside each end.

  4. Step 4: The plate

Behind the knob draw a tall oval plate, peeking out all round and hanging low under the knob.

  5. Step 5: The keyhole

On the plate under the knob draw a keyhole: a small circle on top of a little triangle.

  6. Step 6: Two screws

On the plate draw a tiny screw circle above the knob and another one under the keyhole.

  7. Step 7: The door

Round the plate draw a big tall box for the door, and a thin strip down its left side.

  8. Step 8: The floor

Draw a long floor line along the bottom of the door, from one side of the paper to the other.

  9. Step 9: Pink cheeks

    Colour the cheeks pink.

  10. Step 10: Gold knob, grey plate

Colour the knob yellow around the cheeks, then the plate grey around the knob and keyhole. Leave the eyes white.

  11. Step 11: Wood door, tan edge

Colour the edge tan, the door brown around the plate, and the keyhole black. Your doorknob is ready to turn!
