How to Draw a Dolma

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a dolma in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the first roll.

Print

  1. Step 1: The first roll

A little left of the middle draw a fat, short roll with round ends, tilting up to the right.

Tip Fat and short, like a rolled-up sleeping bag.

  2. Step 2: A second roll

Tucked behind the right end of the first roll, draw a second fat roll tilting down to the right.

  3. Step 3: A third roll

Under the first 2 draw a third roll lying almost flat, tucked behind the first.

  4. Step 4: Leaf folds

Across each roll draw a curved fold line from edge to edge, with a short vein growing out of it.

  5. Step 5: A lemon wedge

Right of the bottom roll draw a lemon wedge: a half round, flat side down, with segments inside.

  6. Step 6: A yogurt cup

On the right draw a flat oval with a small one inside, then a U from end to end.

  7. Step 7: A plate

Draw a big flat oval plate around everything, with a second oval inside it for the rim.

  8. Step 8: The table

Draw a line under the plate, a little wider than it, just touching its bottom.

  9. Step 9: Yellow lemon, cream cup

Go over your lines, then colour the lemon wedge yellow and the little cup cream, leaving the yogurt white.

  10. Step 10: Sky blue plate

Colour the plate sky blue around the rolls, the lemon and the cup.

  11. Step 11: Green rolls

Colour all three rolls green, and your dolma are done!
