How to Draw a Crayfish
Draw a crayfish in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: shield head.
Step 1: Shield head
Above the middle of your paper draw a soft rounded shield, wider than tall, flatter at the bottom.
Tip A crayfish is a little freshwater lobster.
Step 2: Two long feelers
From the top of the head draw 2 long thin feelers curving up and out to points.
Step 3: Big eyes
Inside the head draw 2 round eyes with a gap between. Add a black dot and white shine in each.
Step 4: Two big claws
From each side of the head draw a bent arm going up, getting thinner. Add a mitten claw on top.
Step 5: Happy face
Under the eyes draw a small smile, and a little round cheek on each side of it.
Step 6: Tail
Under the head draw a tail: 2 lines getting closer as they go down, to a flat bottom. Add rings.
Step 7: Tail fan
Under the tail draw a wide fan: a broad middle flap, and one flap splaying out each side.
Step 8: Little legs
On each side of the tail draw 3 little legs, thinner as they curve out and down to round tips.
Step 9: Stream bed and pebbles
Draw a line across the paper, touching the tip of the tail fan. Add 2 round pebbles on it.
Step 10: Grey pebbles
Colour the 2 pebbles light grey.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, sandy bed
Colour the cheeks pink. Colour the stream bed sandy, from the line down to the edges of the paper.
Step 12: Rusty head and tail
Colour the head and the tail rusty orange, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Rusty claws and legs
Colour the arms, claws, tail fan and legs rusty orange too. Your crayfish is ready to scuttle off!
