How to Draw a Crab
Draw a crab in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the shell.
Step 1: The shell
In the middle of your paper draw a wide dome shell, much wider than tall, pointy at each side.
Tip Like a loaf of bread with a soft point at each end.
Step 2: Eyes on stalks
From the top of the shell draw 2 short thick stalks going up. Put a round eye on each.
Step 3: Two big claws
On each side of the shell draw a fat arm bending up into a pincer: a mitten with a gap.
Step 4: Happy face
In the middle of the shell draw a wide smile with a little round cheek at each end.
Step 5: The sand
Draw one straight line right across the paper under the shell for the sand.
Step 6: Top legs
From each pointy shell side, draw a leg bending out, then thinning to a point on the sand.
Step 7: Four more legs
Under each top leg draw 2 more pointy legs, so 3 tips stand on the sand like a fan.
Step 8: Tummy line
Under the smile draw one short gentle curve across the lower shell, stopping before the legs.
Step 9: Sandy ground
Colour a sandy strip under the sand line.
Step 10: Pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Red crab
Colour the shell, stalks, arms, claws and legs red, around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
