How to Draw a Corgi

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a corgi in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper draw a big upside-down egg for the head, wide at the top.

Tip The head is almost half the corgi. Leave room below for the body.

  2. Step 2: Big pointy ears

On each top corner of the head draw a big wide ear, leaning out. Add a smaller triangle inside.

Tip Corgi ears are huge: big triangles with soft rounded tips.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

High on the head draw 2 egg eyes with a gap between. Put a black dot in each.

Tip Leave a tiny white speck in each dot for the shine.

  4. Step 4: Snout and nose

Near the chin draw a small oval snout inside the head. Sit a black triangle nose on top, point down.

  5. Step 5: White stripe

Start on the top of the head. Draw 2 lines down between the eyes and stop on the snout.

Tip The stripe is thin between the eyes and wider at the snout.

  6. Step 6: Smile and tongue

From the nose draw a line down to a little w. Hang a U tongue from the middle of it.

Tip The tongue pokes out below the oval. Rub out the line inside it.

  7. Step 7: Wide body

Start low on each cheek. Draw a fat C down near the bottom. Join the ends with a saggy line.

Tip A corgi is a long loaf on short legs: wide and low.

  8. Step 8: White chest

Start under the left cheek. Draw a big U down the chest and up to stop under the right cheek.

Tip This is the white chest patch, wide at the bottom.

  9. Step 9: Front legs and ground

Start on the chest line. Draw 2 legs down to round paws with 2 toe lines. Add the ground line.

Tip Corgi legs are stubby. Each paw is a little wider than its leg.

  10. Step 10: Back legs

Draw a paw on the ground at each bottom corner. Curve a thigh line from the side down to it.

Tip Add 2 toe lines. Rub out the body line inside each paw. A corgi has no tail.

  11. Step 11: Peach ears

Go over your lines. Colour the inside of each ear peach.

  12. Step 12: Colour the fur tan

Colour the head, ears and body tan, around the peach. Leave the eyes, snout, stripe, chest, legs and paws white.

  13. Step 13: Pink tongue

    Colour the tongue pink.
