How to Draw Conga Drums
Draw conga drums in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the front drum.
Step 1: The front drum
A little left of the middle draw a tall barrel standing on the ground, bulging out in the middle.
Tip Congas are tall Cuban hand drums, played in pairs.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the drum draw 2 round eyes side by side. Add a big black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile, and a small oval cheek at each end.
Step 4: Its head
On top of the drum draw a flat oval for the drum head, as wide as the top.
Step 5: The tall drum
On the right draw a second, taller barrel tucked a little behind. Add a flat oval head on top.
Step 6: Hoops
Just under each head draw a curved hoop line across the drum, with 3 short lines hanging down from it.
Step 7: Bands
Draw 2 curved bands across each drum: 1 at the fattest part and 1 near the bottom.
Step 8: Ground and notes
Draw a ground line under the drums from left to right. Add a music note in the air each side.
Step 9: Tan heads, pink cheeks
Colour the drum heads tan, like skin, and the cheeks pink.
Step 10: Red drums
Go over your lines, then colour both barrels red around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Black notes
Colour the music notes black. Bum-ba-da-bum!
