How to Draw a Christmas Hedgehog

Draw a Christmas hedgehog in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: pointy face.

Step 1: Pointy face
On the left draw a round head that stretches to a point. The point is the nose.
Tip Leave room on the right for the spiky back.
Step 2: Nose, smile, eye
Draw a black ball nose on the point. Add a little smile and one big round eye.
Step 3: Round ear
At the back of the head draw one small round ear.
Step 4: Fluffy hat band
Across the top of the head draw a long curved sausage. It is the fluffy band of a hat.
Step 5: Floppy hat
From the band draw a tall hat that bends over to the left. Put a round bobble on its tip.
Step 6: Round back
Start behind the hat. Draw a big dome over the back and under the tummy. Stop at the chin.
Step 7: Coat edge
Start low on the back. Draw a curve forward and up to the back of the head.
Tip Above this line is the spiky coat. Below it is the soft tummy.
Step 8: Spiky coat
Draw pointed spikes all along the dome, from the hat down to the bottom. Add 4 short quills inside.
Tip Every spike sits on the dome line and leans back.
Step 9: Near legs
Under the tummy draw 2 short legs. Each narrows at the ankle and ends in a paw with 2 toes.
Step 10: Far legs, ground
Behind each leg draw another leg peeking out. Draw a ground line under all the paws.
Step 11: Pink ear and cheek
Colour a pink spot inside the ear. Colour a small pink cheek under the eye.
Step 12: Tan face and tummy
Colour the face, ear, tummy and legs tan, around the pink. Leave the eye and the hat white.
Step 13: Red hat
Colour the tall part of the hat red. Leave the fluffy band and the bobble white.
Step 14: Brown coat
Colour the spiky coat brown, right out to the tips. Your Christmas hedgehog is done!
