How to Draw a Chimpanzee
Draw a chimpanzee in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.
Step 1: Big round head
Near the top, draw a big round head with full cheeks and a flatter chin. Make it half the chimp.
Tip Leave room underneath for the body, and at the sides for the ears.
Step 2: Huge round ears
On each side of the head, draw a huge round C ear bulging out, with a smaller C inside.
Step 3: Heart face and eyes
Inside the head, draw a big heart face with 2 round bumps on top. Put a big eye in each.
Tip The 2 bumps are where the eyes go; the wide bottom is the snout.
Step 4: Nose and smile
Under the eyes, colour 2 little nostril dots. Below them, draw a wide U smile from eye to eye.
Step 5: Egg body and tummy
From each cheek, draw a C down, curling in to meet at the bottom. Add an oval tummy.
Tip The body is an egg, clearly narrower than the head.
Step 6: Hanging arm
From under the right cheek, draw an arm over the body's side, then a mitten hand with 2 finger lines.
Tip The arm gets thinner at the wrist, and the hand is wider than the wrist.
Step 7: Other hanging arm
From under the left cheek, draw the other arm and mitten hand the same way, with 2 finger lines.
Step 8: Two feet
From the body's bottom, draw 2 short legs down to round bun feet, a small gap between, and back up.
Tip The feet are short and chunky, like 2 little buns.
Step 9: Hair tuft and ground
On top of the head, draw 3 soft hair bumps. Draw a long ground line right under the feet.
Step 10: Peach face
Colour the face, inner ears, tummy, hands and feet peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Dark fur
Colour the head, ears, body, arms and tuft dark grey, around the peach parts. Go over your lines.
