How to Draw a Cat in a Box
Draw a cat in a box in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: cat head.
Step 1: Cat head
Above the middle, draw a sideways egg head with 2 fur points on each cheek and a soft chin.
Tip About a third as wide as the paper.
Step 2: Pointy ears
From each side of the head, draw a curved triangle ear up to a point, and back to the head.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the head, draw 2 big oval eyes, 1 eye apart, with black dots and a shine.
Step 4: Nose and W smile
Draw a pink upside-down triangle nose under the eyes. From its point, swoop a W smile out to the eyes.
Step 5: The box
Start on the left by the chin. Draw a wide box down, up the right, then across under the chin.
Tip Take it down near the bottom, with soft corners. The box front covers the chin, so the cat sits inside.
Step 6: Open flaps
From each top corner of the box, draw a flap leaning up and out, across, and back to the edge.
Step 7: Paws over the edge
On the box edge under each eye, draw a paw: a bump above the edge and a mitten hanging down.
Tip Add 2 toe lines. Rub out the box edge inside each paw.
Step 8: Whiskers and label
Above the cheek fur, draw 2 whiskers out each side. Low on the box, draw a heart label.
Tip Start each whisker on the head line and draw it outward.
Step 9: Ground and sparkles
Rule a ground line under the box from left to right. Add a sparkle star out to each side.
Step 10: Yellow sparkles, tan box
Colour the sparkles yellow and the box tan brown, leaving the label white.
Step 11: Pink ears, ginger cat
Colour a small pink triangle inside each ear. Colour the head, ears and paws ginger, around the pink.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Wood flaps
Colour the 2 flaps wood brown, around the cat's head and ears.
Step 13: Red heart
Colour the little heart red. Your cat is snug in its box!
