How to Draw a Brother

Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper draw a big egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Make the head big: about a third of the whole brother.

Step 2: The face

Below the middle draw 2 big eyes with black dots. Add 2 brows, a U nose and a smile.

Tip Leave a gap between the eyes, about one eye wide.

Step 3: Ears

On each side of the head, level with the eyes, draw a C ear. Start and stop on the head.

Step 4: Short hair

Start above the left ear. Go up and over the head, with 1 soft tuft, down to the right ear.

Tip Keep the hair line a little outside the head, so the hair looks thick.

Step 5: Fringe

Start where the hair began. Go up to a point, then sweep across the forehead to where the hair ended.

Tip Keep the fringe above the brows.

Step 6: Neck and T-shirt

Start under the chin and draw 2 neck lines down to the shoulders. Add a T-shirt with short sleeves.

Step 7: A star

In the middle of the T-shirt draw a star with 5 points.

Tip Start with the top point, then go round.

Step 8: Shorts

Start at the T-shirt's bottom left corner. Draw shorts with 2 legs, ending at the bottom right corner.

Step 9: Arms and mittens

Start at each sleeve. Draw the arm down, round a mitten with a thumb, and back up to the sleeve.

Tip Keep a little gap between the hand and the shorts.

Step 10: Legs

Start under the shorts and draw 2 lines down for each leg, getting narrower. Stop at the ankle.

Step 11: Shoes and ground

Under each leg draw a round shoe with the toe pointing out. Add a long ground line under both.

Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour pink cheeks, then the face around them and the ears, neck, arms and legs peach. Leave the eyes white.

Step 13: Yellow star, red T-shirt

Colour the star yellow. Colour the T-shirt around it and the shoes red.

Step 14: Blue shorts, brown hair

Colour the shorts blue and the hair brown. Go over your lines and your brother is done!
