How to Draw a Boathouse
Draw a boathouse in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the deck.
Step 1: The deck
Below the middle draw a long flat box for the deck that the boathouse stands on.
Step 2: The walls
On the deck draw a wide box for the walls, from one end of the deck to the other.
Step 3: The roof
On top of the walls draw a pointed roof sticking out past both walls. Draw a thin edge under it.
Step 4: The open boat door
In the middle of the front wall draw a big arched opening on the deck, wide enough for a boat.
Tip Boats sail straight in off the water through this door.
Step 5: The boat inside
In the opening draw a boat and cabin. From the cabin draw a mast and flag up to the arch.
Step 6: Water in the door
Draw a wavy water line across the bottom of the opening, from the arch's left edge to its right edge.
Tip Rub out the boat's bottom below the wave so it floats.
Step 7: Four posts
Under the deck draw 4 short posts standing down into the water, one near each end and 2 between.
Step 8: The water
Draw 3 wavy water lines right across the paper, edge to edge. The first touches the bottom of the posts.
Step 9: The round window
Under the peak of the roof, draw a round window with a cross inside it.
Step 10: Sun and gulls
Draw a sun with short rays in the top left corner, and 2 little flying gulls on the right.
Step 11: Yellow sun, sky window
Colour the sun yellow and the round window sky blue.
Step 12: Wood and water
Colour the walls, deck, posts and triangle under the roof wood brown, around the window. Colour the water blue.
Step 13: Red flag, slate roof
Colour the flag red, the roof slate, and the doorway dark slate around the boat, flag and water.
