How to Draw a Barn
Draw a barn in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big roof.
Step 1: Big roof
Near the top draw a barn roof: a point on top, a bend in each side, a thick brim.
Tip A barn roof has a bend in each side. About half the barn.
Step 2: Walls
Start on the brim near the left end. Draw the left wall down, across, and up to the brim.
Step 3: Big doors
In the middle of the wall draw a tall door with a rainbow top. Draw a line down its middle.
Step 4: Ground
Draw a ground line from each bottom corner out to the edge, with 3 grass blades at each end.
Step 5: Rail and cross braces
Draw a line across both doors where the tops curve. Below it, draw an X corner to corner on each.
Step 6: Hayloft door
Up in the roof, above the doors, draw a square door with an X on it.
Step 7: Two windows
On each side of the doors draw a square window with a little shelf. Add a plus sign inside.
Step 8: Little roof tower
On the very top, start on the left slope. Draw a box with a pointy roof, stopping on the right.
Step 9: Hay bale
Beside the doors on the right draw a small loaf shape on the ground, with 2 lines across for straw.
Step 10: Sky windows, yellow hay
Colour the windows sky blue and the hay bale yellow.
Step 11: Wood doors, red barn
Colour all the doors wood brown, then the walls and tower red, around the windows, doors and hay.
Step 12: Grey roof
Colour the roof and the little ball on top grey, around the hayloft door.
Tip Go over your lines and your barn is done!
