How to Draw a Baby Frog
Draw a baby frog in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round tadpole body.
Step 1: Round tadpole body
In the middle left, draw 1 round body like a fat bean, with a blunt snout on the left.
Tip A baby frog is mostly a round tadpole body: no neck yet.
Step 2: Big eye
Draw 1 big circle eye on top of the head, poking above the body. Colour a black pupil and shine.
Tip Frog eyes sit on top like headlights, even on a baby.
Step 3: Smile and nostril
Start at the snout. Draw a smile back under the eye, turning up at the end. Dot a nostril.
Step 4: Tadpole tail
Start on the back of the body. Draw a long tail curling up to a point, back to the body.
Tip Rub out the body line inside the tail, so body and tail are one shape.
Step 5: Soft tail fin
From the tail by the body, draw a soft fin line above it, ending past the tip. Same below.
Step 6: Bent back leg
Start under the back of the tummy. Draw a fat bent leg to a 3-toed foot, back to the tummy.
Step 7: Bent front leg
Start under the chin. Draw a short bent leg down to a 3-toed hand, back up to the tummy.
Step 8: Pond floor and bubbles
Draw a long pond floor line across the page, under the feet. Add 3 little bubbles rising by the snout.
Step 9: Cream tummy, sky fin
Colour a band along the tummy cream. Then colour the soft tail fin sky blue.
Step 10: Colour it green
Go over your lines, then colour the body, tail and legs green around the tummy. Leave the eye white.
