How to Draw an Alabama Map
Draw an alabama map in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top edge.
Step 1: The top edge
Start at the top, left of the middle. Draw a straight line to the right. Stop right of the middle.
Tip Alabama is a tall state. Leave lots of room below this line.
Step 2: The right side
From the right end, draw a long straight line down, leaning a little right. Stop just above the middle.
Step 3: The river edge
Carry on from there. Wiggle a line down with a bump to the right. Stop a little above the bottom.
Tip This wiggly edge is the Chattahoochee River.
Step 4: The flat step
From there, draw a straight line to the left. Stop three quarters of the way across.
Step 5: Down to the sea
Carry on from there. Wiggle a short line down. Stop at the sea.
Step 6: The bay
Carry on from there. Go left, draw a tall upside-down U bay, go left again. Stop at a corner.
Tip This is Mobile Bay, where big ships come in.
Step 7: Close the map
From the corner, draw a long line up, straight at first, then leaning right. Join your first line.
Step 8: The capital star
Just below the middle, a little to the right, draw a star for the capital city, Montgomery.
Step 9: Two mountains
Below the top edge, right of the middle, draw 2 little triangle mountains, the left one higher.
Tip On a map, little triangles show where the mountains are.
Step 10: Green land
Go over your lines. Colour all the land green, around the star and the 2 mountains.
Step 11: Brown and red
Colour the 2 mountains brown and the star red. Your map of Alabama is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: an alabama map, drawn by you.
