How to Draw a Yorkshire Terrier
Draw a yorkshire terrier in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: bell of hair.
Step 1: Bell of hair
Draw a tall bell for the head: round on top, wider below, with 6 soft bumps along the bottom.
Tip A Yorkie's long hair hangs down both sides of its face.
Step 2: Pointy ears
On each top corner draw a pointy ear standing up and leaning out, with a smaller point inside.
Tip Start and stop each ear on the head line.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the middle of the head draw 2 egg eyes, a gap apart, each with a black dot.
Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each eye.
Step 4: Snout and nose
Under the eyes draw an oval snout. Add a black oval nose at the top and a w smile.
Tip Leave a tiny white shine on the nose.
Step 5: Topknot and bow
On top of the head draw an oval knot, a bow loop each side and 3 hair strands standing up.
Tip The middle strand is the tallest.
Step 6: Long face hair
From each side of the snout hang a long lock of hair with a round end. Join them below.
Tip Rub out the head bumps inside the 2 locks.
Step 7: Round body
Start under the head hair. Draw a big C down each side to the ground. Join them along the bottom.
Step 8: Front legs
From under the 2 locks draw 2 legs. Each narrows to an ankle, then ends in a round paw.
Tip Add 2 short toe lines on each paw.
Step 9: Back paws
Rule the ground line. At each bottom corner of the body draw a hill paw with 2 toe lines.
Step 10: Fluffy tail
On the right side draw a fat tail curving up from the body to a soft tip.
Tip Start and stop on the body line.
Step 11: Cream and pink
Colour the snout and the 2 long locks cream. Colour the inside of each ear pink.
Step 12: Tan fur
Colour the head, ears, topknot, front legs and back paws tan. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Red bow
Colour the bow and its knot red.
Step 14: Steel grey coat
Colour the body and the tail dark grey, around the tan legs and paws.
