How to Draw a Volleyball Player
Draw a volleyball player in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.
Step 1: Egg head
Near the top of your paper, draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and the ball.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 round eyes with dots, shines and a tiny lash each. Add a U nose and a smile.
Step 3: Hair and fringe
Start left by the eyebrows. Draw hair over the head, down to the right, and a curved fringe across.
Step 4: Ponytail
Start on the hair, top right. Draw a fat ponytail down to a round end, back to the hair.
Step 5: Neck and sleeves
From the chin draw 2 neck lines down to a collar dip. Add sloping shoulders and 2 short sleeves.
Tip Stop at the end of each sleeve. The arms come next.
Step 6: The volleyball
Under the collar, in the middle, draw a big round ball.
Tip Leave a small gap between the collar and the ball.
Step 7: Arms and hands
From each sleeve draw an arm down to the elbow, then across to a mitten hand on the ball.
Tip Each hand sits over the edge of the ball, thumb up. Rub out the ball line inside the hands.
Step 8: Ball stripes
From near the middle of the ball draw 3 curved lines out to the edge. Add 1 more beside each.
Tip Each extra line starts on one of the first 3 lines and stops on the edge of the ball.
Step 9: Shorts
Start under one arm. Draw shorts down and across with a dip between the legs. Stop under the other arm.
Step 10: Legs and knee pads
From each shorts leg draw 2 lines down to the ankle. Across each knee draw a soft rounded pad.
Tip Volleyball players wear knee pads for diving on the floor. Each pad is a little wider than the leg.
Step 11: Sneakers and ground
Under each leg, draw a sneaker, toe pointing out, with a toe cap line. Add a ground line.
Step 12: Pink cheeks, peach skin
Colour 2 pink cheeks. Colour the face, neck, arms and legs peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Yellow and red
Colour 1 ball stripe yellow and the top red. Leave 1 stripe and the sneakers white.
Step 14: Blue and brown
Colour the last ball stripe, the shorts and the knee pads blue, and the hair brown.
