How to Draw a Snake in a Tree
Draw a snake in a tree in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round head.
Step 1: Round head
In the lower left, start on top, draw a big egg head on its side. Stop short, leaving a gap.
Tip The head hangs down from the branch, so it goes low. The neck joins at the gap.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the head draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 3: Nostrils and smile
Under the eyes dot 2 tiny nostrils. Start under the left eye, draw a wide smile, stop under the right.
Step 4: Forked tongue
From the middle of the smile draw a fat tongue poking straight down. Split the end into 2 points.
Step 5: Leafy branch
Above the head draw a long branch, thick on the left and thinner to a round tip. Add 2 leaves.
Step 6: Up and over
Start at one side of the gap. Draw a fat body up over the branch, back to the other side.
Step 7: Tail hanging down
Start under the branch. Draw the tail hanging down right, thinner to a point, and back up under the branch.
Step 8: Oval spots
Draw a row of oval spots along the body, head to tail. Make each one a little smaller.
Step 9: Yellow spots, red tongue
Colour the spots yellow. Colour the tongue red.
Step 10: Green snake
Go over your lines, then colour the head and body green around the spots, leaving the eyes white.
Step 11: Wood branch, green leaves
Colour the branch wood brown around the snake, and the 2 leaves green.
