How to Draw Santa in the Chimney
Draw Santa in the chimney in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.
Step 1: Egg head
Near the top of your paper, draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave the bottom half of the page for the chimney.
Step 2: The face
Below the middle, draw 2 oval eyes with dots. Add a round nose and a small smile well below it.
Tip Leave a gap under the nose for the moustache.
Step 3: Santa hat
Above the eyes, draw a fluffy band from the left across to the right. Add a floppy hat and pompom.
Tip The hat flops over to the right, and the pompom sits on its tip.
Step 4: Beard and moustache
Under the nose, draw a bow moustache above the smile. Add a big U beard from cheek to cheek.
Tip Keep the smile showing between the moustache and the beard.
Step 5: The coat
Start at the beard. Draw a shoulder out, then down the side, stopping halfway. Do both sides.
Tip The bottom of the coat hides inside the chimney, so stop early.
Step 6: Arms up
From each shoulder, draw an arm up to the top corner, bending a little at the elbow.
Tip Wide at the shoulder, narrow at the wrist.
Step 7: Waving mittens
From each wrist, draw a round mitten pointing up, back to the wrist. Add a thumb bump on the inside.
Step 8: Chimney top
Below the beard, draw a long flat box across in front of Santa. Rub out the coat lines inside it.
Tip The top is wider than the chimney under it.
Step 9: Chimney
From the left end of the top, draw down near the page bottom, across, and up to the right end.
Step 10: Bricks and ground
Draw 3 lines across the chimney for brick rows, with short lines between. Rule a ground line along the bottom.
Tip Stagger the short lines, like real bricks.
Step 11: Peach face, white beard
Colour the face peach with a pink nose and cheeks. Colour the beard, moustache, band, pompom and mittens white.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Grey top, red suit
Colour the chimney top grey. Colour the hat, coat and arms red, around the white beard.
Step 13: Brown chimney
Colour the chimney brown. Go over your lines and Santa is done.
