How to Draw Rescue Pups

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw rescue pups in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big egg head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big egg head

Near the top, draw a big soft egg head with fat cheeks. Make it more than half the puppy.

Tip Puppies have big heads. Leave room underneath for the body.

  2. Step 2: Floppy ears

From each top corner, draw a long fat ear hanging down past the head, ending on the cheek.

  3. Step 3: Eyes and patch

Across the head's middle, draw 2 big eyes with dots and shines. Add an egg patch around the right eye.

  4. Step 4: Cap with a badge

Draw a curved brim across the top of the head. Add a dome above it and a small badge.

  5. Step 5: Snout and nose

Under the eyes, draw a wide oval snout. Put a rounded triangle nose on top and colour it black.

  6. Step 6: Smile and tongue

From the nose, draw a short line down to a little w smile. Hang a U tongue from the middle.

  7. Step 7: Body and collar

From each ear tip, draw a body line curving down to the bottom. Add a collar and a round tag.

Tip The body is small, only a little wider than the head.

  8. Step 8: Front legs

Start under the collar. Draw 2 fat legs down to round paws, joined by an upside-down U. Add toe lines.

Tip Keep the upside-down U small, just between the paws.

  9. Step 9: Back paws and ground

At each bottom corner, draw a hill paw with 2 toes. Add a ground line under the paws.

  10. Step 10: Fat tail

Start low on the right side. Draw a fat tail up to a round tip and back to the side.

Tip Rub out the body line between the tail's two ends.

  11. Step 11: Cream fur, yellow tag

Colour the head, body, legs, paws and tail cream, around the patch and tongue. Colour the tag yellow.

Tip Leave the eyes and snout white.

  12. Step 12: Pink tongue, ginger ears

Colour the tongue pink, and the floppy ears and the eye patch ginger.

  13. Step 13: Red cap, blue collar

Colour the cap red and the collar blue.
