How to Draw a Pirate Parrot
Draw a pirate parrot in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the pirate hat.
Step 1: The pirate hat
Near the top draw a wide hat: a round hump in the middle, 2 points sweeping up at the sides.
Tip The bottom of the hat dips down in the middle.
Step 2: The round head
Start under the hat on the left. Draw a big U down and stop under the hat on the right.
Step 3: Beak and eye
Draw a big beak pointing down with a curved line across. On the left add an eye and black dot.
Step 4: The eye patch
On the right draw a shield-shaped patch. Start at it, draw 2 short straps, stop at the hat and head.
Step 5: Crossed bones
On the hat draw 2 thin bones crossing in the middle like an X.
Step 6: The plump body
Under the head draw an egg body, about as wide as the head.
Step 7: Two wings
On each side draw a wing like a long leaf, from the shoulder down to a point.
Step 8: The ship's rail
Draw a long thick rail on 4 posts. Start at the left, rule a deck line, stop at the right.
Step 9: Two feet
On the rail draw 2 feet. Each has a short leg and 2 chubby toes curling over the rail.
Step 10: The tail
Under the rail draw a round tail. Start at the rail, add 2 feather lines, stop at its end.
Step 11: Grey beak, brown rail
Colour the beak and the feet grey. Colour the rail and its 4 posts brown.
Step 12: Blue feathers
Colour the 2 wings blue. Colour the 2 outside tail feathers blue too.
Step 13: A red parrot
Colour the head, the body and the middle tail feather red. Leave the eye white.
Step 14: Black hat and patch
Colour the hat black around the bones, and the eye patch black. Leave the bones white.
