How to Draw a Peg Puzzle

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a peg puzzle in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the board.

Print

  1. Step 1: The board

A little below the middle, draw a long flat board with soft corners, wider than a ruler is long.

  2. Step 2: The fish piece

On the left of the board, draw a fish: an oval body with a big forked tail on the right.

  3. Step 3: The face

On the fish, draw 2 big egg eyes with a dot in each. Add a U smile under them.

  4. Step 4: The apple piece

Leaving a gap after the fish, draw a round apple with a dip at the top and a tiny stem.

  5. Step 5: The star piece

On the right, leaving another gap, draw a big 5-point star for the star piece.

  6. Step 6: Lift knobs

Draw a round knob on each piece: on the fish's tail, and in the middle of the apple and star.

  7. Step 7: Ground line

Start near the left edge. Draw a straight ground line across under the board, stopping near the right edge.

  8. Step 8: Sparkles

Draw 3 little 4-point sparkles above the board to make it shine.

  9. Step 9: Yellow star, pink cheeks

Go over your lines. Colour the star and sparkles yellow, going around its knob. Colour 2 pink cheeks.

  10. Step 10: Orange fish, red apple

Colour the fish orange and the apple red, going around the cheeks and knobs. Leave the eyes white.

  11. Step 11: Wood board

Colour the board wood brown around the pieces, and the 3 knobs slate grey.
