How to Draw a Panda Swimming

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a panda swimming in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big wide head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big wide head

Near the top draw a big wide head, like an egg lying on its side.

Tip Leave room below for the tummy and the water.

  2. Step 2: Round ears

On each top corner of the head draw a big round ear, tucked behind the head.

  3. Step 3: Eye patches

Below the middle of the head draw 2 big egg patches, slanting down and out.

Tip Slanted patches are the most panda thing of all.

  4. Step 4: Two eyes

Inside each patch draw a round eye with a black dot.

Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each dot.

  5. Step 5: Nose and smile

Between the patches draw a small black oval nose. Add a short line down and a smile.

  6. Step 6: Round tummy

Start under each cheek. Draw a big curve out and down for the tummy. Stop level on both sides.

Tip The tummy is wider than the head.

  7. Step 7: Folded arms

From under each cheek draw a fat arm that bends in to a round paw on the tummy.

Tip Rub out the tummy line inside each arm.

  8. Step 8: Wavy water

Start at the left edge. Draw a wavy line across the bottom of the tummy. Stop at the right edge.

Tip The panda is floating on its back.

  9. Step 9: Feet up

Below the tummy draw 2 curved ripples. On each, start an upside-down U foot and stop on the ripple.

Tip The feet poke up out of the water.

  10. Step 10: Pads and ripples

Draw an oval pad on each foot. Draw 2 more short ripples, out at the sides.

Tip Now there are 4 ripples.

  11. Step 11: Pink pads

Colour the oval pad on each foot pink.

  12. Step 12: Black fur

Colour the ears, eye patches, arms and feet black, around the pink pads. Leave the eyes white.

Tip The head and tummy stay white.

  13. Step 13: Blue water

Colour the water blue under the wavy line, around the feet.

Tip Your panda is floating along!
