13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw an Old English sheepdog in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: shaggy head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Shaggy head

Near the top, draw a big oval head, bumpy on top, with droopy hair locks round the sides and chin.

Tip Droopy locks everywhere: this dog is one big mop of hair.

  2. Step 2: Shaggy ears

Beside each cheek, draw a long hanging ear with droopy hair locks down the edge, ending in 2 round locks.

  3. Step 3: Snout and nose

Low on the head, draw a wide oval snout. Sit a black triangle nose on top of it, point down.

  4. Step 4: Fringe and eyes

Draw long hair locks hanging over the forehead. Just under them, draw 2 round eyes with dots and shines.

  5. Step 5: Smile and tongue

From the nose, draw a line down to a little w smile, ending under the snout. Hang a U tongue.

  6. Step 6: Shaggy body

From under each cheek, draw round fur bumps down to the bottom. Join the 2 ends with a saggy line.

  7. Step 7: Grey coat line

Under the chin, draw a wavy line from the left of the body across to the right side.

  8. Step 8: Front legs

From the coat line, draw 2 legs down to round paws, sharing a middle line. Add fur bumps and toes.

  9. Step 9: Back paws

At each bottom corner of the body, draw a little hill paw with 2 toe lines.

Tip No tail: an Old English sheepdog has just a shaggy bottom.

  10. Step 10: The ground

Draw a long ground line across under all 4 paws.

  11. Step 11: White head and chest

Colour the head, ears and chest above the wavy line white, pressing softly. Leave the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: White socks, pink tongue

Colour the paws below the fur bumps white for the socks, and the tongue pink.

  13. Step 13: Grey body

Colour below the wavy line grey, around the white socks: the body, leg tops and back paws.
