How to Draw a Grizzly Bear
Draw a grizzly bear in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top draw a big head like an egg on its side. It is almost half the bear.
Tip Fat round cheeks and a narrower chin, not a perfect circle.
Step 2: Round ears
High on each side draw a round ear from the head line back to it, with a rainbow inside.
Tip The ears sit high on the head, not out at the sides.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Across the middle of the head draw 2 big round eyes, one eye apart. Add black dots with shines.
Step 4: Big snout and nose
Under the eyes draw a big wide oval snout poking past the chin. Add a wide black nose on it.
Tip A grizzly has a big broad snout and a nose wider than an eye.
Step 5: Smile and tongue
From the nose draw a short line down to a wide W smile. Hang a fat U tongue from it.
Step 6: Round belly
Start under the left cheek. Draw a big pear body, widest low down, and stop under the right cheek.
Tip The body is narrower than the head, like a pear tucked under the chin.
Step 7: Hugging arms
From under each ear draw a short fat arm curving in toward the tummy. Add a round ball paw.
Tip The paw is a round ball fatter than the arm.
Step 8: Shaggy fur
Draw 3 soft fur bumps on top of the head. Draw 5 across the tummy top, from arm to arm.
Tip Keep the bumps small and soft: it is fur, not a zigzag.
Step 9: Back legs and feet
On each side of the belly draw a big round C leg down to the ground. Add a hill foot.
Tip The foot sits on the ground in front of the leg, pointing at you.
Step 10: The ground
Draw a straight ground line under both feet, a finger past each side.
Step 11: Sandy snout, pink tongue
Colour the snout, inner ears and the chest above the fur bumps sandy cream, and the tongue pink.
Step 12: Golden brown fur
Colour the rest of the bear golden brown, around the sandy snout, chest and ears. Leave the eyes white.
