How to Draw a Gift Basket
Draw a gift basket in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the basket.
Step 1: The basket
In the middle of your paper draw a wide shallow smile. Add a tub under it, narrower at the bottom.
Step 2: Back rim and handle
From the left rim end draw a shallow rainbow over to the right end. Add a tall thick handle above.
Step 3: A big present
Draw a tall box present in the basket. Add a ribbon cross, from the top down to the rim.
Step 4: A small present
On the right, behind it, draw a shorter present. Add a ribbon cross, from the top down to the rim.
Step 5: Little bows
On top of each present draw a little bow: a small oval knot with a loop out to each side.
Step 6: Tissue paper
Draw 6 puffy tissue bumps along the rim, from handle across to handle. Rub out the lines under them.
Step 7: Handle bow
On top of the handle draw a big bow: a knot, a loop each side, and 2 tails hanging down.
Step 8: Braid and weave
A finger under the rim draw a shallow smile across the tub. Add a zigzag of mountains near the bottom.
Step 9: Ground and shadow
Draw a ground line under the basket from well left to well right. Add a flat half-oval shadow under it.
Step 10: Yellow bows, pink tissue
Go over your lines, then colour all the bows yellow, tails and all, and the tissue paper pink.
Step 11: Tan basket
Colour the basket and the handle tan, around the bow on the handle.
Step 12: Red and green presents
Colour the big present red and the small present green, around their bows.
Step 13: Brown band, grey shadow
Colour the zigzag band and the basket's inside wood brown, and the shadow grey. Your gift basket is full!
