How to Draw a City Bus
Draw a city bus in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long low body.
Step 1: Long low body
Start low on the left. Go up the front wall, over a long roof, down the back wall, and stop.
Tip The roof is the longest line you will draw today.
Step 2: Floor with wheel bumps
Start at the bottom. Draw the floor with a bump near each end, up to the back.
Step 3: Eye, smile and bumper
Low on the front wall draw a big eye. Under it draw a smile. Add a bumper at the corner.
Step 4: Two fat tyres
Under each bump draw a big circle tyre. Start at the floor, swing round, and finish back at the floor.
Step 5: Big windscreen
Start a finger in from the front wall. Draw a big window that follows the corner, back to the start.
Step 6: Four side windows
Leave a gap behind the windscreen for the door. Draw 4 chunky rounded windows in a row under the roof.
Step 7: Folding door
In the gap draw a tall door. Start level with the window tops, go down to the floor, across, up.
Step 8: Belt line and lights
Rule a line under the windows from front across to back, skipping the door. Add a sign and tail light.
Step 9: Hubcaps and road
In each tyre draw a smaller circle with a dot. Start in front, draw a road, stop behind.
Step 10: Yellow sign and light
Colour the sign and the tail light sunny yellow. The headlight, bumper, door and hubcaps stay white.
Step 11: White top, sky windows
Colour the top of the bus white, going round the windows. Colour all the glass sky blue.
Step 12: Blue bottom, black tyres
Go over your lines. Colour the bus blue from the belt line down. Tyres black.

Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a city bus, drawn by you.
