How to Draw a Christmas Dinosaur

Step 1: Bean head

Near the top right, draw a big head like a bean lying down, with a round snout pointing right.

Step 2: Eye and smile

Draw a big oval eye with a black dot and a shine. Dot a nostril and add a long smile.

Tip Start the smile on the snout and stop it under the eye, without touching the eye.

Step 3: Fur band

Across the top of the head draw a long sausage shape for the fur band of the hat.

Tip Then rub out the head line inside the band.

Step 4: Santa hat

From one end of the band draw the hat up, over and drooping down behind. Add a round pom-pom.

Tip Stop the hat line on the other end of the band.

Step 5: Back and fat tail

Start at the back of the head. Draw down the back, round a fat tail, and stop under the bottom.

Tip Lift the tip of the tail a little.

Step 6: Chest and tiny arm

Start under the jaw, draw a C chest, stop at the hip. Rub out the neck line. Add an arm.

Tip Bend the arm and give it 2 round fingers.

Step 7: Big near leg

Start at the end of the chest. Draw a leg down to 3 toes, then up round a fat thigh.

Step 8: Tummy line

Start at the back of the thigh. Draw a short curve back, stop where the tail line ended.

Step 9: Back leg and ground

Start behind the thigh. Draw a back leg down to 3 toes, up to the tummy. Add a ground line.

Step 10: Tummy patch

Start under the jaw. Draw a long curve down the chest and stop on the thigh.

Step 11: String of lights

Start on the neck. Draw 4 loops hanging from the back line, stop on the tail. Hang 4 bulbs.

Tip Hang one oval bulb from the bottom of each loop.

Step 12: Cream tummy, yellow bulbs

Colour the tummy patch cream. Colour the second and the last bulb yellow.

Step 13: Red hat, bright bulbs

Colour the hat red, but leave the band and pom-pom white. Colour the other 2 bulbs red.

Step 14: Green dinosaur

Go over your lines. Colour the head, body, tail, legs and arm green. Leave the eye white.
