How to Draw a Cat Silhouette
Draw a cat silhouette in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big moon.
Step 1: Big moon
Draw a big circle that fills most of your paper. Go slowly so it stays round.
Tip Draw it lightly. The cat will sit in front of it.
Step 2: Head and eye
Inside the moon, up on the left, draw a round head with a tiny nose bump. Add one tiny eye.
Step 3: Two ears
On top of the head draw 2 pointed ears, like tall triangles with soft sides.
Step 4: Chest and back
Start under the chin. Draw the chest down to a paw, a flat bottom, then a big curved back up.
Tip A sitting cat is narrow at the shoulders and round at the bottom.
Step 5: Curly tail
Start low on the back. Draw a tail that runs out, then curls up like a hook.
Tip Thick at the cat, thinner at the tip.
Step 6: Fence top
Right under the cat draw a long thin box, wider than the moon, for the fence top.
Step 7: Fence planks
Under the fence top draw a wide box for the planks. Draw a ground line under it.
Step 8: Plank lines
Draw 7 straight lines down the box, from the fence top to the ground, to make 8 planks.
Step 9: Pale yellow moon
Colour the moon pale yellow. Go carefully around the cat and stop at the fence.
Step 10: Brown fence
Colour the fence top and all the planks brown.
Step 11: Solid black cat
Colour the whole cat black, even the ears and the tail. Leave the tiny eye white.
Tip A silhouette is a solid dark shape with no details inside.
