How to Draw a Cartoon Hedgehog
Draw a cartoon hedgehog in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: pointy face.
Step 1: Pointy face
On the left, draw a big sideways teardrop for the face, with the pointy snout low on the left.
Tip Leave room on the right for the spiky back.
Step 2: Nose, smile and eye
Draw a black ball nose on the snout tip. Add a little smile and one big eye behind the snout.
Step 3: Ear and first spikes
Start on top of the head. Curve back to the shoulder with 6 leaning spikes. Add a round ear.
Tip Every spike sits on the curve, like tents on a hill.
Step 4: Round back and tummy
From the last spike, draw a big dome over the back, down to the chin. Add a curved coat edge.
Step 5: More spikes
Start after the 6th spike. Draw more spikes along the dome, all leaning back, each ending on the dome.
Tip 14 spikes in all.
Step 6: Legs and paws
Start under the chin. Draw a leg down to a round paw, and back up. Add a back leg.
Step 7: Far legs
Behind each leg, start at its heel. Draw a paw peeking out and a leg up to the tummy.
Step 8: Toes and ground
Give each near paw 2 short toe lines. Draw one long ground line under all 4 paws.
Step 9: Pink ear and cheek
Colour the inside of the ear pink and add a pink blush under the eye.
Step 10: Tan face and tummy
Colour the face, ear, tummy and the 2 near legs tan, around the pink. Leave the eye white.
Step 11: Brown spikes
Colour the spikes, the coat and the 2 far legs brown.
