How to Draw a BMX Bike
Draw a BMX bike in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: wheels and hubs.
Step 1: Wheels and hubs
Near the bottom, draw 2 small wheels, about one wheel apart, with rims and hubs. Add a road line.
Tip BMX wheels are small; the frame will sit low in the gap.
Step 2: Fork and head tube
From the front hub, draw a fat stick up and back, stopping above the tyre. Add a pill on top.
Step 3: Chain wheel and pedal
Draw a chain wheel between the wheels, with a crank out to a pedal and a stick to the pill.
Tip The chain wheel is a bit bigger than a hub.
Step 4: Top bar and post
From the pill, draw a top bar back. From the chain wheel, draw a stick up through the bar's end.
Tip The frame is tiny and low: the top bar is shorter than a finger.
Step 5: Back stays
Draw 2 sticks to the back hub: one from the bar's end sloping down, one from the chain wheel back.
Step 6: Little saddle
On top of the tall stick, draw a short post with a small saddle: pointy nose in front, round back.
Step 7: Tall rise bars
From the pill, draw a stick straight up, a hand taller than the saddle. Add a fat grip pointing forward.
Tip BMX bars stand TALL; the grip points forward from the very top.
Step 8: Number plate and pegs
Under the grip, draw a number plate with a fat 1. Add a stubby peg poking out of each hub.
Step 9: Spokes
In each wheel, draw 3 straight lines through the hub from rim to rim, like cutting a pizza into 6.
Step 10: White plate, grey metal
Colour the plate white. Colour the hubs, bars, saddle post and chain wheel light grey, around the crank.
Step 11: Blue frame, brown saddle
Colour every fat stick of the frame blue, and the saddle brown.
Step 12: Dark grey tyres
Go over your lines, then colour the tyres dark grey around the frame, plus the grip, crank, pedal and pegs.
