How to Draw a Bee
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw a big wide egg lying on its side. Make it big.
Tip Leave room above for antennae and lots below for the body.
Step 2: Two antennae
Start on top of the head. Draw a short curve up and out to a ball. Do both sides.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Below the middle of the head draw 2 big eggy eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide open smile: a flat line with a U under it. Add round cheeks.
Step 5: The body
Start on the chin at the left cheek. Draw a big fat egg hanging down, back to the chin.
Tip The body is a little narrower than the head.
Step 6: Three stripes
Draw 3 stripes across the body, each made of 2 close lines. Start and stop on the body.
Step 7: Big wings
Start on the body under the chin. Draw a fat teardrop wing leaning up, back to the body. Do both.
Step 8: Front legs
Start under the top stripe. Draw a thin bent leg out to a tiny foot. Do both sides.
Step 9: Back legs
Start under the middle stripe. Draw a thin bent leg down to a tiny foot. Do both sides.
Step 10: The stinger
Start on the bottom of the body. Draw a small sharp triangle pointing down and stop back on the body.
Step 11: Yellow bee
Colour the head and body yellow, around the cheeks and stripes. Colour the mouth red. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Blue wings
Colour the wings sky blue and the cheeks pink.
Step 13: Black stripes
Colour the 3 stripes, the stinger, the antenna balls and the legs black.
