How to Draw a Warthog
Draw a warthog in 11 steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top left of your paper, draw a big round head.
Tip A big head is what makes it cute.
Step 2: Eyes and nose
Draw 2 big eyes across the middle of the head. Under them, an oval snout with a smile below.
Step 3: Ears and tusks
Draw a triangle ear on each top corner, a small spiky tuft between. Add a banana tusk on each cheek.
Step 4: The neck
Start behind the head. Draw the neck's back sloping down to the right. Draw its front from the chin down.
Tip The neck gets wider toward the body.
Step 5: The body
Start at the neck. Draw a bean body: a long back, a round bottom, a tummy up to the chest.
Tip A bean, not a loaf: the bottom is rounder and higher than the chest.
Step 6: Two legs
Draw a ground line. From the chest, draw a front leg thinning to a hoof. Add a bent back leg.
Tip A hoof is flat on the ground, with a short split up the middle.
Step 7: The far legs
Draw a thin leg behind the front leg, from tummy down to hoof. Same in front of the back leg.
Step 8: The tail
Start high on the back end. Draw a thin tail curving out and down to a small tuft.
Step 9: Back bristles
Start past the tusk tip. Draw 4 soft pointy bristles along the back, leaning toward the tail.
Step 10: Peach and grey
Colour the snout and ear insides peach. Colour the rest grey, around the eyes, tusks, hair, tail tuft and hooves.
Step 11: Slate hair and hooves
Go over your lines. Colour the hair, tail tuft and hooves slate. Leave the eyes and tusks white.
