How to Draw a Passenger Jet

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a passenger jet in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long body.

Print

  1. Step 1: Long body

Across the middle, draw a long fat tube tilted up to the right: round nose, thin tail end.

Tip The nose is on the right. The tummy line sweeps up to meet the top at the tail.

  2. Step 2: Tall tail fin

On top of the tail end, draw a tall fin leaning back, with a round top.

  3. Step 3: Big wing

From the middle of the tummy, draw a long wing sweeping down and back to a round tip.

Tip Wide where it joins the body, narrow at the tip. Rub out the tummy line inside it.

  4. Step 4: Far wing

Start on the top line above the wing. Sweep a small far wing back, then down to the top line.

  5. Step 5: Jet engine

On the wing's front edge, draw a fat pill engine poking forward. Add a ring line near its front.

Tip The engine hangs under the wing, so rub out the wing line inside it.

  6. Step 6: Tail wing

On the side of the tail, draw a small wing sweeping back past the tail end.

  7. Step 7: Cockpit and door

On the nose, draw the pilot's window with a slanted front. Behind it, draw a tall door.

  8. Step 8: Long stripe

Start under the door, at the nose. Draw a straight stripe along the body. Stop at the tail.

Tip The stripe passes just under the door and runs behind the wing.

  9. Step 9: Row of windows

Between the door and the tail, draw a row of 8 small round windows, above the stripe.

Tip Keep them all the same size, like a row of peas.

  10. Step 10: Two clouds

Draw a small puffy cloud above the nose and another below it. Give each a flat bottom.

  11. Step 11: Sky blue windows

Colour the 8 round windows and the pilot's window sky blue.

  12. Step 12: Grey wings, engine

Colour both wings and the engine grey.

  13. Step 13: Blue tail and tummy

Colour the tail fin, the tail wing and the tummy under the stripe blue. Leave the top white.

Tip Go over your lines to finish. Your passenger jet is ready for take-off!
