How to Draw a Number 1 Pencil
Draw a number 1 pencil in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the pencil.
Step 1: The pencil
Draw a tall fat 1 in the middle: a round top, a flag on the left, a sharp point.
Tip A 1 with a point at the bottom looks just like a pencil!
Step 2: Two big eyes
Below the flag draw 2 round eyes close together. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 3: A smile
Under the eyes draw a small U smile, from under the left eye to under the right eye.
Step 4: Eraser band
Above the flag draw 2 lines across the stem, close together, from side to side.
Step 5: Sharpened tip
Where the stem starts to narrow draw a line across for the wood. Near the point draw a shorter line.
Step 6: Sparkles on the left
On the left of the number 1 draw 2 sparkle stars, one higher and one lower.
Step 7: Sparkles on the right
Draw 2 more sparkle stars on the right to match.
Step 8: Floor and shadow
Draw a flat oval under the point for a shadow. Draw a long floor line out from each end.
Step 9: Yellow pencil and sparkles
Go over your lines. Colour the long stem, flag and sparkles yellow, leaving the eyes white.
Step 10: Pink eraser, grey band
Colour the round top above the band pink for the eraser, and the band grey.
Step 11: Tan wood, black lead
Colour the sharpened wood tan and the very tip black.
Step 12: Grey shadow
Colour the shadow grey, around the black tip. Your number 1 pencil is done!
