How to Draw a Guanaco

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw a guanaco in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: head and muzzle.

Print

  1. Step 1: Head and muzzle

Near the top left, draw a long egg head. Over its chin, draw a round muzzle that pokes out below.

Tip Leave lots of room on the right for the body.

  2. Step 2: Eyes and smile

Draw 2 big eyes. On the muzzle, draw a dark nose, then a line from it down to a smile.

Tip Put the eyes above the muzzle, each with a white shine.

  3. Step 3: Banana ears

On each top corner of the head, draw a tall banana ear curving up, with a smaller banana inside.

Tip The ear tips lean in a little.

  4. Step 4: Tall neck

From under the muzzle, draw 2 long neck lines straight down. Curve both round to the right at the bottom.

Tip The front line becomes the chest.

  5. Step 5: Bean body

From the neck, draw a bean body to the right, round the bottom and along the tummy to the chest.

  6. Step 6: Two legs

Draw a low ground line. From the chest and the bottom, draw 2 thin legs down to hooves on it.

Tip Each hoof is a little doorstop with a split up the middle.

  7. Step 7: Far legs

Add 2 thinner far legs peeking out, one beside each near leg. All 4 hooves touch the ground.

  8. Step 8: Short tail

From the top corner of the bottom, draw a short thumb-shaped tail pointing out and down.

  9. Step 9: Pale tummy

Start on the chest. Draw a gentle curve down to the tummy line, and stop before the back legs.

Tip Below this line the fur is pale.

  10. Step 10: Cream and peach

Go over your lines. Colour the muzzle and tummy cream, and the ear insides peach. Leave the eyes white.

  11. Step 11: Grey head

Colour the head and ears grey, around the muzzle, eyes and ear insides.

  12. Step 12: Colour it ginger

Colour the neck, body, legs and tail ginger, around the tummy. Colour the hooves slate.
